A clothes dryer is generally a long life appliance. They require very little in the way of maintenance and repair is usually not a major undertaking. Of course, it stands to reason that those who use their dryers more often will be more likely to need dryer repair. Long Beach residents, for example, may put their clothes dryers through a bit more abuse than someone who does not live in a coastal area. Wet towels from the beach or pool, along with extra loads of laundry that need to be done after day trips to the beach can cause laundry to pile up.

There are a couple of things that can be done to lengthen the life span of your dryer and prevent the need for dryer repair. Long Beach citizens can take advantage of the warm weather that the region is known for and hang out some of their items, such as towels and heavier clothing that might take a longer time to dry. Also, be sure that you never overload your dryer. This will help to reduce the strain on the dryer and will also help out on energy bills, especially during the summer months when the air conditioner must compete with the heat produced by the dryer.
Being careful to clean the lint filters, vents and duct work is also important to extending the life of your dryer. Clear the filter after each load and occasionally check the vents and filter to be sure that lint has not collected in there, blocking the flow of air. This will help to reduce drying times and prevent fires and mechanical malfunctions that might lead to having to call for dryer repair. Long Beach residents have more exciting and enjoyable things to do with their free time than to wait for a repairman to visit.
