My first problem was a central heating issue, the technician came out and diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate to fix it. It turned out that he was called out of town on family business before the job started. I was pleasantly surprised when he set me up with another highly qualified tech and briefed him on what he had found. The Heating issue was fixed in a timely manner at the cost quoted. Needless to say when I had an air conditioning issue arise a couple months later they were the only company I called. That problem was also accurately diagnosed and repaired at the quoted price.

We needed a new Thermostat. George Mann quoted $500, No Sweat did the same work for $150. Cannot say enough about this company. Fantastic.

Our furnace stopped working on a Monday evening when the nights were dropping into the low 40s/high 30s. After having lots of fun with the landlord, I finally just called someone myself, and decided on No Sweat because of the good reviews on here. We called at about 6:30 at night on Tuesday and had someone out at 8 that night. Unfortunately, the part that went bad needed to be purchased, so we had to wait until the next morning, but he returned early the next morning and had it fixed and tested in just a few minutes in the morning. He was extremely courteous, charged exactly what he quoted, and did excellent work. I wouldn't hesitate to use No Sweat again for any HVAC issues I have in the future.

The Name Says it All … “No Sweat.” On several levels, I found this to be true! Seldom will I write a comment, except in extreme cases, good-or-bad. With our major remodel, several contractors were involved, carpenters, electricians, drywall, and of course HVAC. I must say, David, from No Sweat Heating & Air Conditioning, TOTALLY exceeded our high expectations. He clearly outlined the job, was prompt and provided excellent workmanship and terrific follow-through. Given all the projects we had sweated a lot, except with David. On one occasion, he drove miles to provide a needed part after hours. ALL WITHIN BUDGET! My wife and I love dealing with companies of character that provide competence, quality and value.

The best personalized heating/air/electrical service in Los Angeles. Will assure his workmanship as guaranteed. I personally recommend No Sweat. I have been doing business with him for several years now and will continue to do so. He is also very honest and trustworthy.

Review Date: 5/1/2009
No Sweat was recommended by an excellent plumber. They arrived on time and began to work. Then the trouble started. The owner, David Barnett, told me he needed to install a large duct in a closet. Of course I agreed--there was no other place to put it. Without a word of warning, he began to install it so that a safe in the back of the closet would be inaccessible. I noticed in time to have the safe moved. Next, although I had made it clear that I wanted a programmable thermostat, he began to install one that was not programmable. When I pointed out that we had discussed that, he said, "no one is smart enough to program one of those--not me and not you." (The plumber who had recommended him talked him into installing it; he told me he would not recommend him again and apologized.) Mr. Barnett said he would not repair the thermostat if it didn't work. In fact, the programmable thermostat is the only part of the system that works and is not at all difficult to program.
Work that was quoted as taking "four or five days" stretched out to about six weeks, although in fairness I stopped the process for a few days (only a few days) when I realized that he was not competent. Finally, long overdue to return to my job back east, I signed off, paid the balance and started saving to get it replaced.
The work itself is completely unsatisfactory: move a few feet one way or the other and the temperature changes drastically. Parts of the house remain very cold and others are unbearably hot. Even the difference in temperature between sitting and standing is considerable. Wind blows from the vents so that papers on a desk have to be held down or they wind up all over the house. All the vents seem to be positioned incorrectly. We are told that "heat rises" but all the vents are near the ceiling. When I asked why they had not been placed lower, he stammered, "because...because...because," and left the question unanswered. The duct work in the back of the house makes the phone terminal inaccessible. He said he would move it, but never did.
A day or two into the process, I had to leave while the work was going on. I gave him a key and asked him to lock the house when he finished for the day. When I returned, the front door was unlocked, the back door was wide open and the key was still on the desk where I had left it.
In a four year remodeling process that included adding a room and completely redoing the kitchen and bathroom this was the only bad experience--in fact the worst experience I have ever had with a repair or installation person.
