My oven stopped working, I called a couple other companies but just ended up paying money for service that did not solve the problem. After calling Whirlpool, they recommended Active Appliances because they are authorized to work on Whirlpool products. They came out, fixed it right away and it's been working great ever since. I wish I called them first!!

I had just moved my refrigerator into my apartment and requested to get it inspected. Andre showed up within time range. He told me I needed a new motor. I thought the cost of repair at $175 was expensive given my fridge was relatively new. I asked him how long it would take and did he have the part with him. He told me yes, and that it would take about 20 minutes. He then said he would be right back as he needed to move his car (we discussed which spot he should park it in), and 20 minutes later, he was not back. In the meantime, while we were discussing what he needed to do to repair it, my son called who asked me to pick him up at the bus stop 5 minutes away and I told him he was going to have to wait for about 20 minutes until such time as the technician could finish the repair to the refrigerator. Well, after Andre left, supposedly to move his car, he never came back - never even called me to tell me so. I then called Active Appliances, to find out what happened to Andre, the technician. They called him and Andre gave them a bogus reason for not coming back. He reported to them that I did not have the $45 diagnostic fee, when in fact, I told him I would pay the $175 repair fee, for which the $45 diagnostic fee was going to be applied towards the $175. Active Appliance technician was a liar and gutless.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!!
This company is not professional or customer service oriented, by any means. They have terrible customer service, from the technicians to the manager of the company. Borris the technician that came out to my house is lazy and knows nothing about dryers. After 1 min of staring at the dryer he said nothing was wrong with my dryer, he looked at the vent and said the vent was clogged and the dryer was fine and charged me $45 for coming out. I asked him if he was going to check the dryer and he said that the problem was not the dryer; it was the vent and began getting loud with me when I questioned him on how he could possible know that from looking at the vent and just staring at the dryer, after he began getting loud with me. I just paid him his $45 just to get him out of my house. He was very argumentative and rude with me. When I called his office I asked to speak to the manager, so I could let them know about my experience with Borris. I spoke to Diana, (the manager), she was also rude, unprofessional, and clueless about anything I was trying to explain to her and she said that since Borris deemed it to be the vent, they would not have a technician come out until we had a professional service clean the vent, so we tested the dryer ourselves by disconnecting the vent and turned on the dryer, it did not heat up. We tried to explain this to DIANA and she was also very argumentative and kept cutting me off when I was trying to speak and when I was able to finally speak, I asked her if she knew anything about dryers, she admitted to us that she knew nothing about dryers or appliances and trusted Borris opinion. Bottomline, to you "Active Appliance Company!!!! Just want to let you know that you that I called another company "ACE Appliance Repair", they come out the same day. Turns out, it was burnt coils in the dryer, (NOT THE VENT) they were honest and were able to fixed my dryer. They were very professional and customer service oriented. This company is one of the most UNPROFESSIONAL companies I have ever had to deal with and know nothing about appliances or customer service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
