I have a GE gas range. Last night, the range started clicking. The clicking noise was coming from the electrode(spark igniter) In order to stop the clicking, I had to remove the electrical plug from the wall. After checking it this morning, the igniter and wire to the spark igniter module appeared to be ok. Could the problem be the module?? The mdule is a Harper-Wyman Model 6520 Kool Lite. Another question is on the back of the module there is are two connector plugs. The plug on the left has a "N" above it and the plug on the right has a "L" above it. Does the yellow wire from the on/off knobs go to the "L" plug and the black wire from the outlet plug go to the "N" plug. Thanks for your help.

Hey Gene I have a Frigidaire microwave model # FMV 156DCC, I get no heat, or burning smell and everything works ok. could you comment on this as to wether this is the magnatron and rectifier tube.

Thanks you

Gene   Thursday, February 05, 2009, 1:26:06 PM
Hello Floyd, If the interior lights, the turn table and the cooling fan still work after you pushed the Start button and there is no unusual noises then the problem could be a bad control board or a bad magnetron. Open the control panel, remove the wires form the high voltage transformer primary windings and check for 120VAC between these wires while the control calls for heat and the door is closed. If there is proper voltage then the magnetron has to be replaced. If there is no 120VAC then the control board has gone bad. Gene.

Hello Michael, Looks like the drain in the refrigerator is clogged and/or frozen. Remove the rear panel in the freezer and, using a hair dryer and a turkey baster with hot water, defrost and unclog the drain. Remove the cover on the back of the refrigerator and make sure the other end of the drain hose is open. Gene.

Gene please help.
I bought a used washer for my daughter for colledge and it seemed to run fine until I got it home and ran it through an entire cycle....no spin cycle
I have been following your advise on line and need help with my frididaire top load washer # FWS445RFS2.Goes through ALL cycles except "spin". Motor turns in spin but belt doesn't move. There is no voltage at door switch when spin cycle is on. It will wash drain adjitate, but no "spin"
Mark

Gene K   Monday, February 09, 2009, 4:20:24 PM
Hello Mark, If the motor moves at the spin cycle, but the basket does not then it could be a bad belt or a bad transmission. Remove the belt and inspect it. In addition, check the idler pulley and the belt tension spring. With the belt "off" turn the transmission pulley CCW and see if the basket will spin. If the pulley is not moving then the transmission has gone bad. Go to the AppliancePartsPros.com and type the model number in the search box to view the diagrams and parts list. Gene.

I have a bosch dishwasher 2 yrs old and after started for a couple of minutes it starts shifting back and forth like it is trying to drain or fill up. It switches back and forth atleast 5 times. I was at a friends last night as she was putting dishes in her washer and made the comment that I would never put some of the things in my dishwasher that she was putting in as they would never come clean. I notice even silverware looking dingy, especially peanut butter. Another question, I have a gas stove on propane and when turning the oven on you really get a strong smell and eye burning. This happens only in the first couple of minutes. Thanks..Hope you can help me. Debbie

Gene K   Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 3:37:45 PM
Hello Debbie, In order to provide most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the dishwasher. In addition I need to know what kind of soap did you use? Gene.

john   Thursday, February 19, 2009, 6:41:55 AM
hello, ihave a kenmore gsa oven/sealed burner,model#3627556891.the oven will not heat up at all,no igniter glow either for the broil or bake? but the top burners work just fine.i'm thinking maybe i should replace the gas valve? any help would be great.
thanks

Gene K   Thursday, February 19, 2009, 12:06:43 PM
Hello John, The first thing I would do is check for 120 VAC to the Bake igniter while the control calls for Bake, and to the Broil igniter while the control calls for Broil. If there is no proper voltage then check for continuity between the Bake terminals and the Broil terminals on the gas valve. If there is no continuity then the gas valve has to be replaced. Otherwise the problem is a bad control board. Unfortunately, the control board has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Gene.

Milz   Saturday, February 21, 2009, 6:37:45 PM
Hopefully Gene or someone out there can help me.I have a Kenmore Refrig model #106.52522101. The water dispenser just up & quit dispensing water. The lever you push to dispense water has no resistance when you push on it. The ice maker is still working. Is there a part I can buy and how difficult is it to replace. I realize it's not emergent but the repair guy I called keeps saying he is too busy to get to it and he has to research it on internet so I thought I'd try it on my own!! Thanks, Milz

Gene K   Sunday, February 22, 2009, 9:15:47 PM
Hello Milz, The model number you posted does not come up. Please, verify and repost it. Gene.

Hello, I have a Bosch washer machine WFK2401UC and I found a burnt power board and replaced it, the washer still stops, with default code 01 Can you please tell me what that means. Thanks, Gene W.

Gene K   Monday, February 23, 2009, 10:17:42 AM
Hello Gene, "01" fault code means "No water filling". You have to check the water valves and the pressure switch. Gene.

Judy Qiu   Tuesday, February 24, 2009, 8:14:59 AM
Hello Gene,

My friend's refrig is not working:
refrig compartment is working, but freezer is working for 1-2 days, then not work.
The defrost timer replaced, not solved the problem. Any suggestions? Thank you very much.

Gene K   Tuesday, February 24, 2009, 1:59:40 PM
Hello Judy, In order to provide most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the refrigerator. Also, can you be more specific on the problem? Gene.

Judy Qiu   Tuesday, February 24, 2009, 8:34:28 PM
Gene,

Thank you very mucy for the response.
The refrigerator brand is Kenmore, side-by-side.

Problem: both freezer and refrig works at begining. a day later, top two drawers (four drawers total) seems not freeze, bottom two drawers are freezing. Refrig side seems OK. When this happened,
power disconnected. wait for a day, then cycle start again. Is that given you idea what might go wrong?
Thanks for your time.

I have a MIELE G858 SCVI Dishwasher.
It stopped draining, water sits there. I did all the internal cleaning, and checked all out let pipes and internal valves. I called MIELE in NJ, they think it's the motor pump or the connection to it. Part is $130. I'm worried I buy it, install it, and it's not the problem.
If I can find a cheaper AFTERMARKET pump, I could take a risk. Anyone have any ideas? I'm in Los Angeles.

-Mike

Hi Gene,
The microwave oven Whirlpool MH7130XEB0 stop heating. Looks like any other function is working - like the lights, fan, internal light, turn table etc. What may be the problem ?. Is it worth spending money on this 1997 model ? How much it may cost for the possible replacement item(s) like Capacitor or Magneton etc ?

Thanks

Gene K   Sunday, March 22, 2009, 3:02:39 PM
Hello Godfrey, In such situation the problem could be a bad magnetron or a bad control board. Both parts are close to $200 and even if you'll do it yourself it's not worth it. Looks like it's time for a new microwave. Gene.

Jacqui   Monday, April 06, 2009, 8:52:46 AM
I have a GE Model# RGB508PEH3WH gas oven and I want to know if the part # WB19k31 is what is needed to make the flame return oven burner. The burner igniter is still working but then when the flame went out and gas was leaking. But now the gas is not coming out of the oven burner and the burner will not light. So is that the correct part to order to fix my oven?

Gene K   Monday, April 06, 2009, 3:12:40 PM
Hello Jacqui. It looks to me like the first failure suspect is the oven igniter. AppliancePartsPros.com part number for the igniter is AP2020569. Gene.

I have a Frigidaire Custom Imperial. The front right burner (sensor burner) stopped working just yesterday after the housecleaner cleaned the stove. Were the wires pulled or disconnected? I'm in the San Fernando Valley looking for a repair person. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
